Solutions Architect

Location: EDMONTON/CALGARY

Position Type: Full-time, permanent, hybrid with both in-office (required) and remote days.

This position offers a hybrid working environment, blending remote flexibility with on-site responsibilities in either location. Please note, fully remote work is NOT available for this role. Candidates must be located in either Edmonton or Calgarypreference will be given to candidates based in Edmonton.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Architect and Design

  • Lead the design of end-to-end technical solutions that align with client needs, industry best practices, and long-term business goals.
  • Translate complex business needs into scalable, secure, and efficient technical solutions.
  • Define and integrate infrastructure components including networks, storage, servers, and cloud technologies.
  • Ensure architectural integrity by reviewing and approving solutions in alignment with enterprise strategy.
  • Accurately create and maintain the Bill of Materials (BoM) corresponding to the design presented and approved.

2. Client Engagement & Relationship Building

  • Build strong relationships and fully understand the client’s business goals.
  • Lead client and technical teams into tailoring solutions aligning with the client’s needs.
  • Deliver engaging presentations and clearly communicate complex technical concepts in a way that is accessible and informative to all stakeholders.
  • Assist in the response to RFPs, RFIs, and other technical documentation, ensuring clarity and precision.

3. Technical Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide expert knowledge and guidance in technology trends and best practices with a wide variety of organizations. Through assessing, analyzing, designing, and documenting solutions.
  • Establish trust and loyalty with clients, becoming their trusted advisor.
  • Clearly communicate effects of architectural decisions, technology costs, benefits, and implementation requirement to their business impact.
  • Ensure compliance with industry specifications and standards.
  • Educate clients and internal teams on best practices.

4. Collaboration

  • Work closely with clients and internal teams to define business technology needs and align strategies for successful project delivery.
  • Partner with sales to identify and qualify business opportunities, serving as a subject matter expert throughout the process.

  • Continuously deliver cutting-edge solutions and design an entire system that meet organizational objectives needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must-Haves:

  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Post-secondary technical diploma (2 years) or a related field.
  • 10+ years proven experience as Solutions Architect or similar role, with a history of successful project implementation.

  • Personal confidence and a collaborative spirit.
  • Good initiative, tempered with desire to adhere to standards.
  • Ability to deliver well with time management: managing multiple tasks/projects, prioritizing effectively and showing attention to detail.
  • Written and verbal communication skills well suited for either business or technical audiences.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Desire for continuous learning and improvement.

Additional Requirements:

  • Clean and valid class 5 driver's license.
  • Participation in a weekly on-call rotation with after-hours support responsibilities.
  • Clear criminal record check.
