When you’ve spent your career thoughtfully building bridges across the IT channel and connecting vendors, partners, and people with integrity, vision, and consistency, it shouldn’t go unnoticed.
Early this month at Ingram Micro’s ONE Innovation Summit, our very own Jeffrey Jansen was inducted into the Trust X Alliance Hall of Fame. This event gathering of tech leaders and innovators, was the perfect stage to announce this well-deserved honour for Jeffrey’s impact and leadership the industry.
As our Vendor Relationship Officer, Jeffrey has dedicated significant time to strengthening partnerships in the IT community, tapping into his mix of strategic insight, steady leadership, and a deep belief in the power of collaboration.
The TXA Hall of Fame award celebrates exactly that. Jeffrey put it best: “It was a very humbling moment, as the Hall of Fame Award reflects long-term dedication and engagement to the IT industry and the Ingram Micro Trust X partner community.”
Curious to learn more? Below, we break down what the TXA is all about, how Jeffrey’s vendor relations expertise has shaped our partnerships, and most importantly, what it all means for you and your IT procurement, security, and productivity.
What is the Trust X Alliance?
Before we get into how this benefits you, let’s take a moment to unpack what the Trust X Alliance (TXA) actually is, and how it works.
TXA is a global network of IT solution providers connected through Ingram Micro, a technology distributor that helps businesses access the infrastructure, cloud services, and support they need to run and scale their operations.
The alliance includes more than 600 channel partners and 60 vendors across industries and geographies. What holds everyone together is a shared commitment to helping each other stay current and deliver better results for the organizations they serve.
Through regional initiatives, community-led discussions, and peer-to-peer engagement, members of TXA collaborate in several ways:
- Sharing technical expertise
- Exchanging lessons learned
- Supporting each other through joint problem-solving, especially around emerging technologies, vendor relationships, and deployment strategies.
PC Corp’s History with the Trust X Alliance
Long before “partner ecosystems” became a buzzword, PC Corp saw the value of being part of a connected community. Back in 2002, we joined the Trust X Alliance, and we’ve been actively involved ever since.
Jeffrey Jansen has represented PC Corp in the TXA from the very beginning. Over the years, he’s taken on leadership roles including Chapter President for the Western Region, TXA Advisory Council member, and Canadian President of the Advisory Council. Through those roles, he’s helped strengthen collaboration across the industry to benefit both members and our clients.
As Jeffrey puts it: “The ability to serve the community, help build out trusted partnerships, and great friendships has been one of the highlights in my career to date.”
For PC Corp, TXA has been a place to learn, contribute, and grow alongside peers who share the same commitment to solving real-world IT challenges.
Why Channel Ecosystems Matter in Modern IT
Let’s zoom out a bit and look at the bigger picture.
Anyone who regularly undergoes IT projects knows how wide-ranging the work can be. One week you’re dealing with modernizing your network, the next you’re planning your AI adoption strategy, and suddenly there’s a security question that needs expert input. It’s a lot, and it’s rarely something a single provider can cover end-to-end on their own.
A strong industry network becomes incredibly valuable in these situations. When your IT provider is connected to a broader ecosystem of specialists, vendors, and peers, they’re not limited to only what’s in-house. They have access to people who’ve solved similar problems, tested different approaches, and can offer insights that speed things up and reduce risk.
For your organization that partners with a connected IT provider to manage your infrastructure or IT procurement, this shows up in very practical ways:
- Fewer delays. Your provider can get answers more quickly because they have more places to turn.
- Better fit solutions. Instead of forcing a one-size-fits-all approach, they can pull in the right expertise for the specific challenge.
- More confidence in decisions. Recommendations aren’t based on guesses or assumptions. Suggestions for your IT are shaped by deeply ingrained expertise across many environments and industries.
Even though you may work directly with just one IT partner, the support behind them can be much larger. A well-connected provider lets you access an entire community’s knowledge to make better technology decisions and keep your operations running smoothly.
What Makes a Strong Vendor Relationship Officer?
Channel ecosystems only work when someone is actively maintaining the relationships that connect vendors, distributors, and solution providers. At PC Corp, Jeffrey has been that person, representing our organization within the vendor community and strengthening the partnerships that support the work we do for clients.
So what does that actually involve?
A Vendor Relationship Officer operates at the vendor–provider level, making sure PC Corp and our partners stay aligned, informed, and able to collaborate effectively.
The role draws on a mix of skills, including:
- Maintaining close communication with vendors. Regular check-ins about product updates, supply chain changes, timelines, and roadmaps help our team stay informed about what’s coming so we can prepare accordingly.
- Negotiating agreements and terms. By securing strong pricing, programs, and support commitments, a good Vendor Relationship Officer influences what options and advantages we can extend to clients.
- Understanding vendor capabilities. We have the context to match the right technologies to the right situations, instead of forcing a fit based on incomplete information.
- Tracking industry and lifecycle changes. This awareness keeps projects from being disrupted by product discontinuations, delays, or unexpected shifts.
- Building long-term trust. Reliable communication and follow-through create relationships that make it easier to get quick answers, resolve issues, or request flexibility when it’s needed.
While this work isn’t always visible day-to-day, customers feel the effects: smoother procurement, clearer options, fewer surprises, and support that moves efficiently because the groundwork has already been laid.
