Solutions Architect
Location: EDMONTON/CALGARY
Position Type: Full-time, permanent, hybrid with both in-office and remote days.
You will play a key role in supporting our sales team by providing technical expertise, solution design, and customer-facing guidance throughout the sales cycle. The Data Centre Solutions Architect bridges the gap between technical possibilities and customer needs, helping the client understand the value, performance, and fit of proposed hardware solutions.
If you are a generalist who is highly motivated by delivering excellent outcomes for the client, this could be the role for you. If you can easily work with teams, both internal and external, to achieve the desired results, this could be a match.
This position offers a hybrid working environment, blending remote flexibility with on-site responsibilities in either location. Please note that fully remote work is NOT available for this role. Candidates must be located in either Edmonton or Calgary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical Solution Design

- Assess customer requirements and design hardware solutions that align with their technical and business needs.
- Recommend server, storage, networking, and end-user compute hardware based on performance, scalability, and budget considerations.
- Prepare and deliver architecture diagrams, BOMs, and configuration documents.
- Presales Support

- Collaborate with sales teams to develop winning proposals and RFP/RFI responses.
- Provide product demonstrations, technical presentations, and proof-of-concept guidance.
- Serve as the technical point of contact during presales engagements
- Customer Engagement

- Conduct discovery sessions to understand customer environments, challenges, and growth plans.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds.
- Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams
- Vendor & Partner Coordination

- Work with OEM partners, (servers and storage technologies, with networking as a nice-to-have) to validate designs, obtain pricing, and apply special bids or partner incentives.
- Stay current on vendor roadmaps, certifications, and new product releases
- Documentation & Enablement
- Prepare solution briefs, technical proposals, and presentation materials.
- Assist sales teams with product knowledge and enablement sessions.
- Maintain internal documentation and best practices for common configurations and architectures.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Approximately 10+ years of experience in IT hardware, infrastructure, or technical presales.
- Strong understanding of enterprise servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud-adjacent technologies.
- Ability to design hardware solutions based on requirements for performance, redundancy, and security.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable engaging directly with customers.
- Experience with OEM platforms (Dell EMC,HPE, Lenovo, Cisco, etc.).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Dell Technologies, HPE ASE, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, VMware VCP) considered an asset.

- Clean and valid class 5 driver's license.
