Managing your time well is super important for getting things done and working smoothly with your team. It starts with ensuring that everyone can easily and effectively coordinate their schedule! When everyone knows which items are the top priorities, when things are due, and who’s available, it is much simpler to collaborate and achieve your goals without delays.
Supporting communication and collaboration, Microsoft has just rolled out a new Teams calendar as part of their ongoing efforts to deliver a platform that empowers efficient operations. It’s designed to work and feel like Outlook, so you won’t have to keep switching between apps. More time for actual work, less time clicking around!
With Digital Learning Day taking place this month, our IT support professionals have compiled this simple guide to help you get the hang of the new Teams calendar. Let’s dive in and get you up to speed!
What is new in the Teams calendar?
Microsoft 365 for Business users can now access the new Teams calendar. While it does introduce new features, it still feels familiar, so adjusting to it will be a breeze. By switching to the new calendar in Teams for desktop, you’ll experience more streamlined scheduling, customizable calendar views, and many other benefits.
New Teams Calendar includes Outlook features such as:
- Delegate access: Grant access to your calendar to another user—helpful for coordinating schedules or allowing a team member to manage your schedule.
- Print support: Print your calendar for screen-free reference.
- Expanded calendar settings: Customize your calendar settings to fit your needs and context.
- Filtering: Filter your calendar to find specific events, meetings, or tasks quickly.
- Multiple time zones: Effortlessly create meetings with attendees located anywhere in the world, ensuring accurate scheduling across different regions.
- Time suggestions: Schedule meetings in less time and with less headaches by easily seeing when most employees are available. No need to switch over to Outlook to check if your colleagues are free.
- Attachments: Attach files to your calendar to provide relevant documents, agendas, or resources directly for convenient access by all attendees.
