A Government Ministry needed to deliver confidential information to the public using ministry owned computer endpoints in a secure manner. It was critical that the information gathered or supplied by one user (on a community-based device) could not be seen by another user of that device.
We introduced a controlled kiosk-based environment where temporary user accounts would be provisioned (to protect the user’s short-term workspace). By using thin clients and a centralized Active Directory and application delivery platform, the ministry met its mandate.
Product utilized/maximized: Citrix XenApp 6.5
By leveraging thin clients, a centrally managed Citrix XenApp shared desktop environment, and an Active Directory, the ministry is able to provide members of the public access to needed services. With this solution, users can self provision a temporary, on-demand Active Directory account, securely utilize government resources and create personalized collateral, all without fear of their information being accessed by other users.
